A good first date owes as much to the place as to the people. Too loud and the conversation dies; too intimate and the pressure builds. Here are the criteria our advisers apply when they arrange a meeting through the Agency Service.
What makes a good first venue
- A public or semi-public space, never a private place for a first meeting
- A noise level that lets you talk without raising your voice
- Easy to reach, well served, and easy to leave at any moment
- A registered business whose staff are trained to look after guests
- A daytime or early-evening slot
Fidjrossè and the seafront
Golden hour on Fidjrossè beach is still the most generous backdrop in Cotonou. The terraces along it offer an open setting, flattering light and a natural background hum: three assets for a first conversation.
Haie Vive and Ganhi: cafés and lounges
For a daytime date, the cafés of Haie Vive allow a short, no-commitment format: an hour, a coffee, and the freedom to stay longer if it clicks.
Cultural spaces
Galleries, exhibitions, cultural centres: the great advantage of a cultural venue is that it supplies a constant subject of conversation. It is the format we recommend to our more reserved members.
Our advisers always propose three time slots and three partner venues, then confirm the date once both people agree. You receive the exact address, directions and a confirmation code to show on arrival.
